About study session
Study sessions are held about once a month using the conference room and video conference software at Northwestern University.
The contents are mainly introductions of research contents of each international student and lectures on special experiments and analysis techniques. We may also invite people who are studying outside of Chicago to give a lecture (see the Invited Lecture page).
Luncheon Seminar
For about two months from March 23, 2020, Chicago was ordered to wait at home due to the COVID-19 epidemic. It has been possible to commute to work in stages since June, but some people are still doing remote work at home. For the time being, face-to-face study sessions are difficult, so we are planning study sessions using Zoom, a web conferencing tool (commonly known as luncheon seminars). I feel that it is possible to participate at any time and to have more lively discussions by being able to easily ask questions using the chat function. Through the seminar, I was able to know the goodness of online presentations.

Social gatherings are held from time to time among study group groups.
In the summer, in addition to barbecue parties and picnics, we also have sports exchanges such as running.
